Honey is not one flavour. What the bees forage on — sal trees in a monsoon forest, mustard and clover on a hillside, rhododendron in the Himalayas — changes the colour, the texture and the taste completely. Here is how to find the one that suits you.
If you love bold, deep flavours: Forest Honey
Our darkest honey, from the Western Ghats and central Indian forests. Thick and slow-flowing, with molasses-like sweetness, a resinous middle and a smoky finish. It stands up to strong chai and spices, and it is our everyday kitchen honey for marinades, baking and warm bread. See Forest Honey.
If you want something light and gentle: Mountain Honey
From the Aravalli and Shivalik ranges, where bees work clover, wild mustard and seasonal wildflowers. Light golden, smooth and free-flowing, with a mild floral sweetness. The easiest honey to love, and the one to drizzle over pancakes, stir into light teas or whisk into a salad dressing. See Mountain Honey.
If you like floral and herbal notes: Himalayan Wild Honey
From the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand, collected in spring from rhododendron, wild buckwheat and mountain blossoms. Golden amber with a reddish glow, a bright floral opening and a herbal finish. Lovely with green tea, yogurt and granola, or with nuts and cheese. See Himalayan Wild Honey.
If you are giving a gift: Wild Honey, our Reserve
Hand-harvested from wild hives by local beekeepers using age-old practices. A multifloral honey — mustard, neem, eucalyptus and seasonal blooms — that is golden, balanced and smooth. It is the jar we choose when a gift needs to say more. See Wild Honey.
Still deciding?
Taste them side by side. The Diwali Family Box has all four in 300 g jars — the simplest way to find your favourite, or to let the person you are gifting find theirs. Or tell us how you take your honey on WhatsApp and we will suggest one.
